Why Our Lexington Aesthetics School Doesn't Offer Open Enrollment

Katharos of Lexington is committed to providing the best education possible to our students, which is why our Lexington, KY aesthetics school doesn’t do open enrollment. While this may be an acceptable way to run things in other schools, we believe in a more consistent path for our students that results in a more prepared esthetician. Instead, we offer enrollment 1-2 times per year, so everyone starts on the same footing.

At Katharos, we offer a wide range of courses. These options include skin care, hair removal, cosmetic artistry, career planning, and advanced topics and treatments. With all of these different aspects that go into the study of aesthetics, it is important to realize that each course builds on the previous course. This is one of the main reasons that we don’t offer open enrollment. It isn’t because we want to keep people out. Many schools offer programs where students can just jump in at any point without having a proper introduction to the material. We want to avoid that here. We want our students to be taught in a much more thorough environment.

As a result of this system, our students are much more prepared for their careers as estheticians. Melissa Anderson, our founder, takes her time to educate beyond what is required. Not only that, but by being with her students from the beginning to the end, she creates relationships with them that go beyond what you’d expect from your average teacher. A past student stated that “the wisdom she shares on life and this industry is priceless.” Students, when they leave Katharos, have the knowledge and preparation to be successful in the industry, and Mrs. Anderson’s wisdom will forever be with them.
