Industry-Ready Training for Real-World Success

Training Standards & Curriculum Overview

Our curriculum is designed to provide a comprehensive foundation in modern esthetics, combining both theory and hands-on clinical training. Students study skin care in depth, including skin physiology, chemistry, European spa techniques, microdermabrasion, microchanneling, chemical peels, and an opportunity to earn a certification in Dermaplaning. Training also extends into cosmetic artistry, where students develop skills in color matching, contouring, camouflage, lash and brow services, and advanced treatments such as lash lifts, tints, henna brows, and spray tanning. In addition, students gain expertise in hair removal using traditional hard and soft waxing systems, including sugaring waxing systems, along with essential career planning focused on building a clientele, marketing, social media, and running a successful skin care business. Advanced students are further challenged with specialized techniques and treatments to prepare them for real-world success in the industry.

Main Areas of Study

Skin Care

Studying skincare matters because skin is your body’s largest organ and plays a major role in health, protection, appearance, and confidence. Understanding how skin works prepares our students to make professional decisions instead of relying on trends or misinformation. Studying skincare is connected to biology, chemistry, dermatology, and nutrition. Students learn how ingredients like retinoids, acids, antioxidants, and moisturizers interact with the skin.

Hair Removal

Studying hair removal teaches how hair grows, the structure of hair follicles, and how different skin types react to treatments. We study hard waxing, soft waxing, and sugaring. Knowledge of hair removal techniques is important in esthetics centers, dermatology clinics, med spas, and beauty industries where professionals perform treatments safely.

Cosmetics

Studying cosmetics often involves matching products and techniques to different skin tones, skin types, face shapes, and personal preferences. Learning different types of cosmetics combines artistic freedom with practical science and real-world skills. Cosmetics can lead to exciting careers in makeup artistry, esthetics, skincare, fashion, film, theater, beauty education, or product development.

Advanced Treatments & CPR

Our students learn CPR because it gives them the ability to respond during life-threatening emergencies and potentially save someone’s life before professional help arrives. We believe safety is paramount to success.

While not a requirement, Katharos School of Esthetics endeavors to promote and explore many advanced treatments and theories. We utilize advanced curriculum and encourage classroom conversations that inspire all students to understand skin care on a deeper level. Our students have the opportunity to learn and investigate much more than the “basics.”
